Again the light disappears from the foot of her door,

and she falls upon her bed.

Head at the foot, her world upside-down.

For a moment she is silent, alone in her frustrated thoughts.

And then suddenly a shuffle and the light reappears.

Scrambling noises from within,

and then only the rhythm of the rapid scratch of pencil on paper

which matches the beat of her racing heart.

Silence again.

The light disappears.

Her sorrows, confusions and tragedies now lifted.

Their burden now lies bound tightly in the pages of a weathered notebook.

She lies once more, light as a feather.

Head at the head.

Her world suddenly right again.

Her eyes close softly and she dreams of a time

when the burdens of many may enter the binding of her book.

When they read of her upside-down world, and are relieved in knowing theirs will be right again.
